Petrolimex funds social welfare projects in Ben Tre
The Vietnam National Petroleum Group (Petrolimex) and the People’s Committee of the southern Ben Tre Province signed an agreement on social welfare for the 2015-2019 period on April 15.

Participating in the signing ceremony were the Secretary of the Ben Tre Party Committee and Chairman of the Ben Tre People’s Committee Vo Thanh Hao; representatives from the Fatherland’s Front; provincial departments and sectors; Petrolimex Party Committee Secretary and Petrolimex Chairman, Bui Ngoc Bao; Petrolimex Board of Management member and Chairman of Petrolimex Trade Union, Dinh Thai Huong; Petrolimex Board of Management member and Chairman cum Director of Petrolimex Saigon, Tran Van Thang; and representatives from some Petrolimex subsidiaries.
In accordance with the Resolution No 30a/2008/NQ-CP and based on the Ministry of Finance’s Circular No 78/2014/TT-BTC instructing the enforcement of certain articles of the Law on Corporate Income Tax, Petrolimex issued the Document No 0263/PLX-HĐQT dated March 20, 2015 on implementing social welfare projects in Ben Tre Province for the 2015-2019 period. Accordingly, Petrolimex commits to funnel VND3 billion (US$140,000) into building works for social welfare purpose in the province from 2015 to 2019. Petrolimex authorised Ben Tre Petroleum Company and the Petroleum Company Region 3 to work on specific projects, ensuring that they would be carried out efficiently and practically in line with financial regime and related management regulations.
Addressing the signing ceremony, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, Vo Thanh Hao said Ben Tre suffered heavy losses during the war time and the aftermaths of the war still exist in each family as well the area.
“The life of numerous households remains extremely hard, whereas infrastructure is underdeveloped. Therefore, this event is of overriding significance, especially on the 40th anniversary of the Liberation of South Vietnam and the National Reunification,” said Hao.
“Ben Tre commits to work with Petrolimex to implement the social welfare programme most effectively,” the chairman added.
On this occasion, Petrolimex Chairman Bui Ngoc Bao thanked the province for its support for the operation of Petrolimex in the area, particularly the Ben Tre Petroleum Company.
According to Bao, social welfare is a regular practice and responsibility of Petrolimex which is done in each period of time (from three to five years). In the time to come, Bao said, the group will attempt to develop the work in both size and funding.
