The Vietnam National Petroleum Group (Petrolimex) appointed Vu Ba Phu, a Petrolimex Management Board member, as Petrolimex Deputy General Director in a decision announced on June 30, 2016.

Attendees to the appointment ceremony included members of the Board of Management, Supervisory Board and Board of Directors, and heads of Petrolimex departments and divisions and Vietnam National Petroleum Trade Union.

In accordance with the Decision No. 238/PLX-QD-HDQT signed by Chairman of Petrolimex Management Board, Bui Ngoc Bao, on June 26, 2016, the Petrolimex Management Board member, Vu Ba Phu, took office as Petrolimex Deputy General Director as of July 1, 2016.

Earlier, the Petrolimex 2016 Annual Shareholders’ Meeting issued a resolution, appointing Vu Ba Phu – head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade’s Planning Department – as a Petrolimex Board of Management member for the 2016-21 term.

Vu Ba Phu has a background in business, and used to assume various positions as deputy head, head at the Ministry of Industry and Trade, and as Minister Counsellor of the Vietnamese Embassy in the European Union and Belgium.

Addressing the ceremony, Party Secretary and Chairman of the Board of Management of Petrolimex, Bui Ngoc Bao, and Petrolimex General Director, Tran Van Thinh, on behalf of the Group’s leadership, staff, workers, and shareholders/investors, extended a very warm welcome to the newly-appointed Deputy General Director, Vu Ba Phu. They were convinced that with his wide knowledge, Vu Ba Phu would make significant contributions to the development of Petrolimex in the new stage, helping it successfully integrate to “go further”.
