The Shareholders’ Annual General Meeting 2016 of the Petrolimex Petrochemical Corporation (PLC) was held and ended in great success at Kim Lien Hotel, Hanoi, on April 14, 2016.

The meeting reported and submitted relevant documents to the Shareholders’ Annual General Meeting 2016 for approval as the set agenda.

Under the general context of the economy which still encountered difficulties in 2015, unexpected oil price fluctuation, and fierce market competition in the fields of lubricant, asphalt, and chemical, PLC continued asserting its right development path, enabling the corporation to maintain sustainable development and obtain achievements in various businesses, and successfully accomplish duties assigned by the Shareholders’ General Meeting.

In 2015, PLC successfully accomplished fundamental business and production targets, earning a turnover of VND6,916 billion (US$307 million), equal to 114% of the target assigned by the Shareholders’ General Meeting, a 2% increase over the same period in the prior year. Pre-tax profit reached VND423 billion ($18.8 million), equal to 120% of the target set by the Shareholders’ Annual Meeting and a 23% increase over the same period in the prior year.
The year 2016 is expected to continue facing challenges. However, with a strong belief in the quality of goods and services; continued inheritance and upholding of achievements gained in nearly 22 years of establishment and development; non-stop efforts and high professionalism of PLC officers and labourers; and with a close and effective coordination and cooperation of member companies in the Vietnam National Petroleum Group; PLC strives and is convinced that the corporation will successfully fulfil the business and production plan 2016 set by the Shareholders’ General Meeting, and will continue establishing trust for PLC shareholders and investors.
