On April 15, 2016, the Timor-Leste Ambassador to Vietnam, Jorge Trindade Neves De Camoes, makes a working visit to Petrolimex.

Deputy Party Secretary – Board of Management member – General Director of the Vietnam National Petroleum Group (Group/Petrolimex), Tran Van Thinh, held a reception for the Ambassador and his delegation. Attendees in the meeting also included Petrolimex Information Technology and Telecommunication JSC (Piacom) director, Phan Thanh Son, and leaders and staff from specialised Divisions/Departments of the Mother Company – the Vietnam National Petroleum Group.

At the meeting, General Director Tran Van Thinh expressed his pleasure to receive Ambassador Jorge Trindade Neves De Camoes. The General Director introduced the Group’s key operation areas to the Ambassador; in which petroleum trading is the major business alongside the other six specialised areas. With its non-stop efforts through 60 years of establishment and development, Petrolimex has asserted its size, stature and position in the market with the aim to develop Petrolimex into a strong and dynamic economic group; and to actively integrate into the world, which is a focal point in the Party and State’s foreign policy and international economic cooperation.

Ambassador Jorge Trindade Neves De Camoes congratulated Petrolimex with its achievements gained over the past 60 years; and appreciated the Petrolimex prestige as well as brand name in Vietnam and abroad. The Ambassador spoke of the business environment in Timor-Leste, expressing the hope to accelerate bilateral trade co-operation between the two countries which remains modest but proves highly potential. He recommended Petrolimex to build plans for doing business in Timor-Leste.

The talk ended with two sides agreeing to exchange information as premise for the development of cooperation plans in the orientation of improved friendship and trade co-operation between Vietnam and Timor-Leste.
