Petrolimex responds to Earth Hour 2011 Campaign by practical activities
In response to Earth Hour 2011 Campaign launched by The Ministry of Trade and Industry , the leadership of Vietnam National Petroleum Corporation (Petrolimex) have made various practical activities: to persuade the officers and employees and their families to voluntarily turn off the lights and other unnecessary equipment in their homes at the time of Earth Hour i.e. from 20.30h to 21.30h on Saturday March 26, 2011. Offices, bureaus, production and business units are also screened to reduce lighting and the consumption of electricity at the same time.

Leaders of Petrolimex member companies initiate the coordination with political and social organizations in their enterprises to enhance the propaganda and education of the aim and significance of the Earth Hour for the officers and workers to recognize the “small thing - big meaning”, therefore they do it on their own will, hence contributing highly to the campaign.
At Petrolimex, apart from performing common activities in the 60 minutes each year on the Earth Hour, Trade Union units agitated all their members to practice economy on electricity at home and in the office daily. These practical activities are beneficial to both their home and the country, contributing to the world’s joint effort in the reduction of exhaust gas and the protection of living environment for future generations.
To increase the use of compact/Led bulbs instead of conventional bulbs of high electricity but low light, the use of equipment that consume lower energy , turn off the lights during noon break, turn off all electric equipment before going home etc…
“Earth Hour” is an event of global significance sponsored by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) for the first time in 2007 and meets with enthusiastic sympathy of all the world. This is a humanitarian action expressing the responsibility toward the living environment of each individual and all mankind.
