In the morning of August 15, 2012in Hai Phong City, VP Petrochemical Transport Joint Stock Company and the Hong Ha Shipbuilding Single-Member Limited Liability Company held the delivery ceremony for the Liquid Asphalt Carrier VP Asphalt (HH15.)

Attending the ceremony were Mr. Nguyen Thanh Son, Member of Board of Management of Vietnam National Petroleum Group, Chairman of Board of Management of Petrolimex Petrochemical Joint Stock Company, Mr. Ngo Quang Trung, Chairman of Board of Management of Petrochemical Transport Joint Stock Company, Colonel Nguyen Van Cuong, Chairman/Director General of Hong Ha Shipbuilding Single-member Limited Liability Company, together with representatives of the General Department of Industries (Ministry of Defense), VIPCO Petroleum Transport Joint Stock Company, Petrolimex Petrochemicals Joint Stock Company and authorities of various levels, business partners, press media of the central government and Hai Phong City.

The carrier VP Asphalt 1 with Petrochemical Transport Joint Stock Company as the owner and investor is the first liquid asphalt carrier successfully built by Vietnam and supervised and classified by DNV Norway and VR Vietnam, It has 3,500DWT and equipped with modern and synchronized equipment made by renowned maritime world brands such as the main engine Wartsilar GL26 1950KW ,the axel and propellers supplied by Wartsilar (Finland), oil-run heating system by Miura, pumps by Taiko, power generator by Yanma of Japan. In the opinion of specialists, this vessel VP Asphalt 1 is among the best asphalt carriers in South East Asia.

Petrochemical Transport Joint Stock Company is now building the carrier VP Asphalt 2 HH16 at Hong Ha Shipbuilding single-member Limited Liability Company. Time of delivery is scheduled in December 2012.
