Petrolimex improves capacity of key leaders
Hanoi - Petrolimex opened its 16th training course for mid-level managers at the Trade Union Guest House at 95 Tran Quoc Toan Street, Hanoi.Thirty-five managers from Petrolimex’s subsidiaries attended the nine-day course with leading lecturers from the Institute of Business Administration of the Hanoi University of Economics.The trainees spent eight days studying principal subjects and one day practising. They made reports in groups based on the corporations’ suggestions on development targets and potential problems in production and business upon completion of the training course.
At the opening ceremony of the course, Petrolimex Deputy General Director Dam Thi Huyen said: “The corporation highly appreciates the role of key leaders in the success of production and business, thus contributing to Petrolimex’s sustainable development in the new period. Constantly improving managerial knowledge and professional skills for key leaders is part of the corporation’s strategy to put people at the centre and consider them a driving force for development by making the work environment a place where they can develop their capabilities and creativeness.”In addition, Huyen asked the trainees to constantly boost self-study to contribute to building the corporation into a strong and dynamic economic group in the domestic market and a highly competitive one in the regional and world markets.

Between 2001 and 2007, Petrolimex in cooperation with the Institute of Business Administration organised three large-scale training programmes that helped train over 1,000 leaders and managers at various levels.Those on training professional directors comprised six courses, each lasting one month, focusing on 15 specialised and practical subjects.The programme on training managers at the mid level began in 2008, including 19 courses with a total of 670 trainees. The curriculum was based on the programme on training professional directors.15 courses have so far been completed, with 525 trainees now serving well at their positions as managers, leading their units to work more effectively, contributing to successfully implementing the corporation’s production and businesses plan./.
