The Vietnam National Petroleum Group (Petrolimex/Group – ticker symbol: PLX) hosted its inaugural franchisee customer conference of 2024 on June 22 in Nha Trang City, Khanh Hoa Province. Theme “Going Further Together”, the event brought together 500 valued partners who have been instrumental in Petrolimex’s success over the years.

Secretary of Petrolimex Party Committee – Chairman Pham Van Thanh presides over the conference, along Deputy Secretary of Petrolimex Party Committee – Board of Directors member – Director General Dao Nam Hai and the Group executives.

Speaking at a significant event in 2024, Secretary of Petrolimex Party Committee – Chairman Pham Van Thanh stated that franchising is not merely a business model but also a symbol of collaboration, a powerful extension of the main trader’s reach, and a link connecting them to their customers. Amidst global economic instability, geopolitical shifts, the Russia-Ukraine conflict, unrest in the Middle East and Red Sea, and other complex developments, the volatile oil and gas market continues to pose challenges. Franchising will continue to play a crucial role in helping businesses expand their operations, enhance their competitiveness, and create new employment opportunities for labourers.

For Petrolimex, he said, the franchisee network is a vital factor in increasing market transparency. It enables Petrolimex to maintain and grow its fuel distribution network, contributing to energy security and stability, ensuring a steady supply of oil and gas in all situations. Ultimately, this supports socio-economic development and collectively fulfills the political tasks assigned by the Party and State.

Based on the spirit of “Harmonising Interests – Partnering for Growth”, Petrolimex recognises that the strength of its franchisee network is a crucial driving force behind the overall development of the Group. Therefore, through research and understanding of the challenges faced by franchisees in operating, managing, and governing their petrol stations, Petrolimex has implemented a wide range of comprehensive support measures, including:

- Implement an online ordering system (SMO) from customers to petrol stations, aiming to streamline the ordering process for customers; 

- Launch a set of solutions to support franchisees in issuing electronic invoices for each sale: This includes assistance with pump systems, providing software, negotiating with invoice providers for better costs, and providing temporary software to issue electronic invoices for customers who lack the necessary infrastructure to comply with tax regulations;

- Starting in June, 2024, providing franchisees with training on fuel sales and customer best practices for their sales staff;

- Implement software management packages for petrol stations and publishing the contact information of franchisee customers on the Petrolimex website.
