In this project, Petrolimex will use the ERP solution developed by SAP, which has been used successfully by many world leading oil and gas groups such as PetroChina, ExxoMobil, Gazprom, Royal Dutch Shell, Sinopec, Petrobras, BP, TOTAL, BHP Billiton and Chevron.

FIS will deploy the SAP ERP solution for Petrolimex which means it will provide both the hardware and the software. The ERP application sub-systems include: financial accounting; administrative accounting; depot management and purchasing and management of the sales of petrol and other commodities. The project is being carried out at 111 locations for almost 1,500 workers at the parent company and 41 subsidiary petroleum companies, as well as branches and major depots throughout the country. The project is due to be completed by December 31, 2011 and the ERP solution will officially start operating in the entire system as of January 1, 2012.

With the SAP ERP solution exclusively designed for the petroleum industry, Petrolimex will be enabled to inherit the processes, functions and tools, which have successfully been applied by giant oil and petrol groups around the world. The SAP ERP solution is seen as an important move that will ensure Petrolimex’s success and operational efficiency.

The Chairman and General Director of FIS Do Cao Bao said at the ceremony that: “This is the biggest ERP contract that FIS has carried out for a business in Vietnam.” “Thanks to our efforts to stand alongside our customers for years, with our knowledge of customer services, as well as our abundant line-up of experts, FIS is confident about undertaking major projects in Vietnam with an ability equivalent to that of foreign IT firms. FIS is committed to successfully carrying out the ERP project for Petrolimex.”

Petrolimex’s General Director Bui Ngoc Bao said: “Petrolimex is resolved to implement the SAP ERP solution because it will help the corporation to manage resources better and improve our competitive capacity in the market. Petrolimex will mobilise all our human resources for the joint team to carry out the project on schedule as agreed upon by both parties.”
